Hi, I’m Cheryl—a relationship and life coach, retired nurse, and former clinical research project manager. But before any of that, I’m a solo parent who walked through one of the hardest seasons of parenting: the teenage years. 

I raised my two children alone from the ages of 10 and 12. Like many parents, I hit a wall when the teen years arrived. The talking stopped. Emotions exploded—or vanished behind closed doors. We tried it all—talk therapy, behavioral plans, alternative techniques. One of my kids responded (a little). The other? Completely shut down. 

And while I was doing everything I could, nothing seemed to work. The tools out there just didn’t fit. I knew there had to be a better way to rebuild connection without pressure, shame, or power struggles. 

Years later, I developed that better way: the 3:1:1 Formula. Today, I help other solo parents and caregivers navigate the emotional chaos of adolescence through this communication-first, trust-centered framework.
